Hilarious.
It also time for all of us to admit that the Founding Fathers were some of the most strangely dressed people in recorded history. Seriously - what people of any era wore clothes that were less functional, more frilly, and altogether...unusual?

Wasn't their fashion just what the british were into at the time? Heck it was probably was much more utilitarian than what was being worn back in merry old England.
Example: "Madness of King George". Great film, funny costumery.
Methinks Eva is not a fan of the historical dramas.
Sure, the outfits came out of what was popular in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries...but let's look at that whole fashion movement. Has clothing ever been less functional? And the Americans who kept it going were essentially farmers! Ever try to plow the back 40 in tights and wool breeches?
I'm just sayin.
I second that, Eva. I am making nerdliness a profession and it never occurred to me to watch such a thing.
Wake me when it's over, will you?
I'm totally with Alvy on this. I can't understand how fashions evolved like this when most people actually had to walk places, do manual labor, didn't have quality heat or air conditioning or hygiene tactics, etc.
