Though much of the voice effect is Bale's own doing, under the guidance of director Christopher Nolan and supervising sound editor Richard King, the frequency of his Batman voice was modulated to exaggerate the effect.
Okay, for some reason that is more disheartening than I would like to admit.
Also, I'd like to note that the Lake Effect focus on The Dark Hooded Fist Fight mirrors the nation's zeal for this flawed movie (which I enjoyed - but then again, I watched Con Air the other day.) Maybe Nolan and Master Control put some subliminal messaging in the dialog to make us all obsessed with the film. (Perhaps that is what "keeping it close to the chest" means.)
Its just because there is literally NOTHING else to talk about right now in the movie world. Twice in the past several weeks I've decided to go to the movies, only to find nothing I want to see. If this had been released around the same time as There Will Be Blood or No Country for Old Men, or if Heath Ledger hadn't died, we'd be hearing far less.
