TV on the Radio, Radio Goo Goo

6.30 a.m. 2 hours of sleep. A 'RADIO TOUR' on the phone from my couch.

DRIVE TIME, baby.

San Diego, Hartford, Kansas City, Baltimore, Rhode Island:

'This is Shanghai Shecky and YOU made the switch to Moffitt and Frankie in the mornings....101 the HotZone!!!!'

and by the end of the 10th interview, i couldn't put a G on the end of any sentence.

'i'm havin' a great time.'

'no no, we all enjoy playin' around.'

'that's what i was thinkin'!! "

best excerpt:

'hey, so is it more fun dunkin' a chick's head in the water or being a kid's doc?!!!'

'uhhhhhhh...'

'Hey hey, don't answer that!!'

'okay'

'what's it like being on a huge hit like Grey's Anatomy??'

'uhhhh, i'm not sure . . .;

'okay!! Who's the biggest bitch on the show?'

'me.'

'ha, ha, no seriously.'

'taye diggs.'

'No, on Grey's Anatomy!!!'

'Oh, i'm not on Grey's Anatomy but . . . '

'Oooh, he's slippery. Nice talkin' to you . . . Paul Ettelman of The Practice!!!'

Turn it off!?

Guess what? Growing up I was a huge Genesis fan. Guess what else? I'm going to see them tonight. I kinda wish I could be like the hipsters and say I dug'em best in the Peter Gabriel Era: but it would be a stone cold lie. The truth is that victimized as I was by being a child of the 80's, It was the Phil Collins era I loved first. Only later did I go back to find the real motherload of the Gabriel era... The whitefaced, flute and bass drum playing, flower costumed goodness.

Advance word from the road, not so good. At best we'll get one Carpet Crawlers for every three We Can't Dance

Here's a video from the first record with Phil up front, my favorite ever Genesis Album, " A trick of The Tale", from 1976. Its not one of the better tracks on the album, but I ask, is there anything PONCIER?

Great Moments in Parenting

From "Rhymes With Snitch", a hilarious gossip site....

Lil' Wayne Has A Baby With His Momma

Well not really, but she did ask him to have a baby for her. A year after his stepdaddy Rabbit was murdered, Wayne says, "I was on tour like crazy with Cash Money, and my momma said she was bored, alone, and scared in the house by herself. She was like, ‘Why don’t you just have a baby with somebody? Just tell the little girl’s mom I’ma take care of the baby, don’t worry about that.’ I was like, ‘I don’t have nobody I like like that!’ She was like, ‘Just find somebody! You don’t like Toya?’ I was like, ‘Alright, I like her then.’ Toya was 14 when she got pregnant, and I was 15 asking 14-year-olds. Toya’s the only person that agreed outta all the ones I asked. I said that my momma wants a child. And they was like, ‘That’s your momma’s problem!’ So Toya was like, ‘Shiiit, when we due, boo?’

Remember when we all donated to the Lounge Ax Defense and Relocation Fund? What do you think happened to the money?

Anyway, this song, from the Lounge Ax Defense and Relocation Fund CD, is fantastic. Simo says Albini's guitar tone gives him a migraine. I say Todd Trainer's drumming gives me heart palpitations.

"I side with the defenders!"
