New Title Suggestion

How about:

Indiana Jones and the Total Piece of Shit
?

I give Spielberg 3 2/3 good movies in the last 20 years:

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
Saving Private Ryan
Catch Me If You Can
and 2/3 of A.I. (the beginning and the end - you know, the part he didn't write.)

Over that same span, he's also done:

Munich
War of the Worlds
The Terminal
Minority Report
TWO Jurassic Park Movies
Hook
Always
And the middle third of A.I., which destroys an otherwise amazing film.

Didn't see Amistad. Schindler's list is fair. Going back further, he had one good run. Between 1975-1981, he made Jaws, Close Encounters, 1941, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and E.T. Only TWENTY-SEVEN short years ago!

He is the Rich Melman of cinema.

Indy Gramps was a total stinker from beginning to end. It's like SteSpe doesn't understand what makes his good movies good. Great trailer, bad movie. If you compare the best of the movies he's done in the last 15 years with Jaws or Close Encounters, it's no contest.

Whose record is worse, Speilberg or Woody Allen?

In the last 20 years, Woody has made more than his share of dogs:

Deconstructing Harry
Celebrity
Melinda and Melinda
Curse of The Jade Scorpion
Alice
Another Woman

but he also made:

Crimes and Misdemeanors
Husbands and Wives
Bullets Over Broadway
Mighty Aphrodite
Everyone Says I Love You
Sweet & Lowdown

and NO Match Point doesn't get included in the good ones.

Crimes and Misdemeanors is so good he is forgiven some of his more egregious misses. That said, Celebrity is a trainwreck.

Dave, are you banning Match Point because it's the least Woodyish? Cause that's what makes it great.

Match Point is a crappy, diluted version of Crimes and Misdemeanors, further damaged by the terrible dialogue and wooden performances - particularly Jonathan Rhys-Myers, who is the worst actor of his generation. And he looks like a tranny.

PS - DON'T CALL ME DAVE

Yeah, but it worked! You responded and got flustered.

He does indeed look like a tranny.

Dave,

You're missing more Woody Dogs in there. Manhattan Murder Mystery, Shadows and Fog, Hollywood Ending, Don't Drink the Water, Small Time Crooks, etc.
