Columnist Robert Novak diagnosed with brain tumor

Jul 28th, 2008 | BOSTON -- Syndicated columnist and former "Crossfire" host Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is suspending his journalistic work.

Novak issued a statement Monday saying the tumor was found Sunday after he had been rushed to Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital from Cape Cod, where he was visiting his daughter.

The Chicago Sun-Times columnist says he is suspending his journalistic work for an indefinite, "but God willing, not too lengthy period." His statement did not say if the tumor was malignant.

Novak was the first to publicly reveal the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

Last week he was given a $50 citation after he struck a homeless man with his black Corvette in Washington. Novak kept going until he was stopped by a bicyclist.

What gets me is that the citation he got was for 50 whole dollars. I've had parking tickets cost more than that, and I didn't almost kill someone.

One of my favorite things on the Daily Show is the unmitigated vitriol spewed in Novak's direction. The writers (and, I think, Jon Stewart personally)seem to despise him more than any other human being in existence. The only thing I don't get is how Novak will recognize the Grim Reaper when he comes for him, since it'll just seem like another glance in the mirror. Seriously, that dude looks more like Death than Kevorkian.

1. Some one should let Novak know that he suspended his journalistic work years ago.
2. "Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital" - does that mean he's a Brigham, or the world's ugliest person of both genders?
3. I agree that he is more deathly than anyone, but does that mean Death is Jewish? Or just looks Jewish?
