This is a great column by Rick Morrissey from Sunday's Tribune, pointing out something that so many Cubs fans miss, which is that Bartman was not the reason the Cubs botched the playoffs in 2003 (I'm looking at you Gonzalez, Prior, et al).

Agreed on all counts. Although, when you watch the tape, there were like 7 other people trying to grab that ball, all looking up--none looking down to see if Alou might have a play. It just happened to land in Bartman's lap.
Agreed. It was Moiseses over-reaction to it that spooked everyone.
Plus they had a whole 'nother game to win, which they did not.
